UFO's and WIP's

I finished the Hermione's Everyday Socks!they were a present for my mom and since today was her birthday I couldn't find a better time to give them to her. She's a little camera shy but I did get 1 picture of her modeling them.
I think they turned out really well, but I need to work in the Kitchener Stitch.
Really good, well written pattern.
My awesome sister gave me a late birthday present that I am totally excited about! Corriedale Spinning Batt! It's gorgeous!
It's more purple, the picture doesn't do it justice.
I did finish some Handspun. I have a really big monster I spun up, it fell of the ball winder and it was my first time using a ball winder so I do apologize that it is sloppy.
Ooh! That reminds me! I didn't show you the package from KnitPicks that came in the mail Thursday!
Gorgeous really.
I also started another pair of socks on the way to TBF ( more on different post).
It's a different ball of my Handspun that I'm using, it's really soft but I still have more than 4 oz. left to spin. Probably shouldn't have bought 8 oz. of the same thing.
I only got the cuff of the socks done and they're from the pattern book Joy of Sox by Linda Kopp. It's  called a Roll in the Hay. The yarn isn't at all close in color to the yellow straw color they used which they think is hay. Hello, but hay is green!
Anyway thanks for listening to me catch up. It was a long post.

Birthdays and Progress!

On Friday it was my birthday and I can gladly say it was awesome.
First I need to mention this newly made FO. It was that Irish Hiking Hat I mentioned a while ago. Let's just say it was a wee bit bigger than expected. My dad's okay with this because he got a new winter hat! :)
Do you see the beautiful crocheted afghan in the background?
I also turned the heel on the second sock. Not much progress really, so I won't bother you with a picture.
I started plying these singles I had. It was variegated so I tried Navajo Plying for the first time, it's not as hard as I expected it to be. It's basically just a crochet chain.
I finished 1/2 bobbins then I still have another 4 oz. to spin from Spinner's Hill.
Isn't it so pretty?
I'm going to try posting at least once a week now, lets see if I can do it!

P.S. Isn't this lovely weather great?!

Socks and the Stash :)

Today after my sisters basketball tournament I talked my mom into taking me to the Village Yarn and Fiber Shop.
Before I talk about the WIP socks.
They're going along well, I just finished the first sock. So don't want to weave in ends. I also cast on the second one.
Now about the spinning fiber ad yarn I got. It's all so pretty! I got a lot of alpaca, not all of it though.
There's some Silkpaca from Malabrigo nestled between some baby alpaca Rowan.
Now up top is some Luxe Alpaca is some yarn my mom fell in love with but will never use.
The red is beautimous hand painted Mountain Color with this hypnotizing Crazy Zaunderball yarn from Schoppel.
Sorry I didn't finish many WIP'S but I did get some spinning fiber candy. Hand dyed from Holiday Yarns. It's more pink than the picture shows though.
 Have a happy fiber weekend!
